The Restoration House of
Greater Kansas City

Bringing hope to survivors of human trafficking through love, guidance and the assurance of a long-term home.

Why The Restoration House?

The Restoration House of Greater Kansas City is a residential recovery program for survivors of sex trafficking. Services include housing, food, clothing, recovery counseling, addiction recovery, education, job skills, social enterprise, medical care and a safe community.

Sex trafficking is a supply and demand business and the demand in Kansas City is high. In 2009, the FBI, in partnership with the Independence Police Department, posted decoy advertisements online offering sexual activities that described the females as “little girls” and “young”. Over 500 phone calls were received within the first 24 hours of posting the ads. It is estimated that each year 1,650 kids in the Greater Kansas City Metro area are victims of sexual exploitation. There is no doubt that sex trafficking and the sexual exploitation of our most vulnerable is happening in the Greater Kansas City area.

At the Restoration House, we believe in empowering victims of sex trafficking through the healing and recovery process. We seek to provide restoration for survivors as they heal, and provide the resources they need to recover and live fulfilling lives without the pain and fear they have experienced for so long. We believe the only viable and sustainable solution to this huge injustice is our community working together in partnership with the Restoration House to say “NOT IN OUR CITY!”

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” ~Margaret Mead
